Dale Earnhardt
had many tributes paid to him during his lifetime. Since his untimely death in February 2001, the number of honors and tributes
has been overwhelming and nearly uncountable. This summer, he is going to have another major tribute not only paid to him,
but played for him in a unique way.
On June 28, 2003, Teresa Earnhardt will host the inaugural Dale Earnhardt Tribute
Concert at the Daytona International Speedway. This event will feature top recording artists and serve as the first major
fundraising event for The Dale Earnhardt Foundation. In addition, long-time Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Inc. corporate
partner, Kraft/Nabisco will title sponsor the event as a show of gratitude and support for Dale and the company he founded
and led.
In regard to the music talent that will perform at the concert, Teresa has personally invited numerous A-list
music artists and has already received confirmation from award-winning artists Sheryl Crow, Alabama, Brooks and Dunn and Kenny
Chesney. The tentative list of acts scheduled to perform is already impressive and exciting and our asking has just begun,
said Teresa, CEO of Dale Earnhardt Inc. I hardly had to ask because they are friends; they all wanted to participate when
they heard about the event.
Meanwhile, holding the concert at Daytona made perfect sense considering Dales track record
at this historic venue. In fact, this all-star fundraising concert is the first non-racing event to be held at the legendary
motor speedway and caps a day-long festival honoring the seven-time NASCAR Winston Cup Champion. Daytona is a place where
Dale had so much success and fans of the sport identify with him and the track in such a special way, Teresa said. Having
the Tribute Concert a few days before the night race at Daytona just ads more excitement to both events.
The concert
promises to be an unforgettable event and will support a great causeThe Dale Earnhardt Foundation. Teresa has earmarked all
net proceeds from ticket sales and event sponsorships to benefit the new Foundation in order to help it achieve its mission.
The Foundation will support a variety of childrens causes, educational and scholarship programs as well as wildlife preservation
all causes that were near and dear to Dales heart.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public on 3/22/03 at all
